Dwarka Group Housing
Dwarka Group Housing rethinks high-density residential living by addressing the social isolation and anonymity commonly associated with apartment towers. The project explores how collective housing can foster community interaction while retaining the individuality of each dwelling unit. Rather than treating residential towers as repetitive vertical stacks, the design introduces shared social spaces and articulated forms that encourage engagement between residents and create a stronger connection with the outdoors.
A series of common terraces are distributed across multiple levels of the towers, functioning as shared green spaces for recreation, interaction and informal gathering. These elevated community platforms break the monotony of conventional tower living while providing visual relief and accessible open spaces within a dense urban fabric. The terraces also establish a layered relationship between private and collective environments, allowing residents to experience nature and community at different levels throughout the development.
The architectural form of the housing evolved through an exploration of uniqueness within repetition. Variations in the massing and façade expression allow individual units to acquire a distinct external identity, extending the sense of personalization beyond the interior spaces. The project ultimately proposes a socially responsive housing model where density, community, openness and individuality coexist within a cohesive architectural framework.
