Notions of India
The Resilience Pavilion is an outdoor sculptural installation conceived as a tribute to the collective strength, courage, and solidarity demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed by ant studio for the “Notions of India” initiative by Tata Structura, the pavilion commemorates the struggles endured by millions while celebrating the resilience that emerged through unity and compassion.
The form of the sculpture is inspired by an intertwining three-dimensional domino structure appearing unstable and on the verge of collapse, yet firmly supported by symbolic human figures representing frontline workers. Doctors, nurses, police personnel, sanitation workers, and countless unsung heroes become the central force holding society together in times of crisis.Brass human forms integrated into the structure embody emotional, medical, economic, and social resilience.
Steel, as the primary material, reinforces the narrative of rebuilding and perseverance. The installation stands as a reminder that despite differences in culture, belief, and identity, collective action and empathy enable societies to overcome even the greatest catastrophes.
