The form of the building is inspired by the Chofas, a predominent feature of Thai Architecture. The facade is a designed like a bird with its wings wide open. The most important part of this design is the element sitting on top of the ridge representing the traditional Chofa.
The project is a facade for an existing factory shed. They are experts in digital fabrication techniques. The brief was to design a building that reflects their work.
While the design elements are taken from traditional forms, materials and technology represent the kind of the work done in the factory. Light and shadow play a major role in blending the technology and tradition together.
CNC cut Perforated panels and gaps as indicated in the renders allow a fantastic play of light and shadow during the day and night, making it a very vibrant structure.
